Sex and candy è la brillante prima hit dei Marcy Playground, semisconosciuta band americana che si rivelò al mondo nel ’97 proprio con questo brano. Contenuta nell’album che porta lo stesso nome del gruppo, Sex and candy volò in testa alle classifiche americane (8 settimane al numero 1 nella U.S. Billboard Modern Rock Tracks, da dove fu scalzata da un’altra hit notevole: The Way dei Fastball!). In Italia godette di una discreta notorietà grazie alla rotazione su Mtv e (!) Videomusic… Il cd era praticamente introvabile, se non ricordo male sono riuscito a trovarlo solo quando sono andato all’università. Da anni, in ogni caso, presenza fissa sul mio lettore.
